This page describes how WatchGold.org sources data, the categories of providers we rely on, attribution statements required by those providers, and our handling of delays, revisions, licensing, and redistribution limits.
Overview
WatchGold combines third-party market data, public statistical filings, sponsor-supplied data, and editorial synthesis (some of which is model-assisted) to produce charts, dashboards, summaries, and educational commentary. We aim to attribute sources clearly and to flag known limitations where relevant.
Source Categories
Benchmark and Pricing Sources
Includes the LBMA Gold/Silver Price, COMEX / CME Group settlement and intraday data, and other regulated or recognized market benchmarks used to derive reference prices on the Platform.
Market Statistics and Public Filings
Includes World Gold Council, Silver Institute, CFTC Commitments of Traders, central bank reserves disclosures, exchange position reports, and similar public statistical sources.
Sponsor-Supplied Data
Some figures on sponsor or partner pages are provided by the sponsor itself. Such data is published as supplied and is subject to the sponsor’s own attribution.
Editorial Synthesis and Model-Assisted Summaries
Commentary, summaries, and tags may be drafted manually or with the assistance of AI models. AI-assisted output is reviewed editorially and remains educational; verify against the underlying source before relying on it.
Attribution Statements
WatchGold honors source-specific attribution and usage conditions applicable to its data sources, including as relevant the LBMA Gold/Silver Price, World Gold Council, Silver Institute, CFTC, COMEX / CME Group content, Perth Mint, Texas Precious Metals, and sponsor-supplied data.
Delays, Revisions, Licensing, and Redistribution
Free and delayed feeds may lag the live market by 15–20 minutes or more. Historical data may be revised by the original source after publication. Licensed data is subject to the upstream provider’s terms and may not be copied, scraped, redistributed, sublicensed, or used commercially without authorization.
